Colours and Cars

Recently Hubby and I went to the annual Woodie car show at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point. Ordinarily we are not car people but Woodies are so iconic and they often display more than a touch of whimsy which appeals to us.

I like all the stickers some owners cover their windows with.

As an artist who uses lots of bright colours in her work, I revel in all the beautiful custom colours.

Those cars really shine.

Some of the owners have fun with their vehicles.

Looks like someone ignored the do not touch sign.

Owners take great care on the inside as well.

I always have to get a picture of an English Woodie. I remember seeing these cars on the road when I was growing up.

A sample of some of the luscious colours on display.

Here was a particular treat. A very old (1930's) Woodie Rolls Royce.
Hold on. Who is that on the front? She looks familiar.

The cars were not the only interesting things to see that morning.

  1. Forget the cars, I want to know HOW that guy got his CAT to walk on a leash of its own will like a dog does? That is an incredibly RARE thing; most cats will fight against that at any cost. Definitely a photograph of something pretty unusual. Love it!!

  2. It was very obvious that the cat was 'purrfectly' comfortable with this arrangement as it trotted along nicely just as a dog would.

  3. The cat really is quite content. You can tell by the way its carrying its tail and its whole body is relaxed. It is indeed just trotting. Quite amazing to this feline admirer! Rarely is a cat that socialized. Obviously you knew this was not an "everyday" event and was quite extraordinary, so you captured it. Great photo! :-) Meow

  4. Thank you. I'd never seen anything like that before. From the stares by everyone else that went by neither had they.

  5. Well, the owner has something to do with the stares. Cats tend to be more often associated with "crazy" women, but here this is just a really large man in a woodie club jacket. Yes, I would expect there would be a lot of stares due to the very unusal combination of friends. But he has a feline "best friend" and you got a photograph!

  7. I'm not a car person but I do love the colours the owners choose for their vehicles. They especially look good next to each other.
