All Good Things

Over the past several years I have enjoyed posting on this blog but today I am going to bring it to an end. There are several reasons but the main one is time.

Thank you for joining me on my adventures to the beach and elsewhere in southern California. Join me, if you'd like to at my other blog, Jacqueline Price Art which is more art-related in nature.

Fielding Colour

This is from a photograph I took when I was last in England. It is of rapeseed fields which are in full bloom in May.

Golden Bowers

A few weeks ago, hubby and I took our first visit to the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana. It has one of the prettiest entryways, built in the Spanish style, I've seen for a museum.

This is a large mural which is mostly obscured by a tree.

I'm not sure what to make of this pruning work. Perhaps they were trying to create a pom-pom tree.

This is in a small garden off of a large hall.

This is a museum that covers a variety of subjects. We saw exhibitions on Beethoven's late works, art of the Pacific (specifically headhunters in New Guinea), early California settlers' artifacts, and 19th Century European paintings.
I'm sure we will be returning there again in the near future.

Winter Beach

I love the beach during the winter. Although it does get cold (relatively speaking compared with our summer temperatures) we get lots of days when adding a sweater, a scarf and some socks and shoes keeps you comfy and cozy for as long as you want to visit.

Winter produces some beautiful sunset cloud colours.

With less people on the beach more birds come in closer to shore.

This egret was taking a walk along the beach well away from any water.

I love the patterns made by the reflections and ripples in the water.

Another beautiful sunset.

There's something special about about a Christmas tree on the beach.

'Tis the Season 2

Here is part two of my trip to Roger's Garden Christmas Shop.

I love Olde Worlde Santas.

Loved these Santas.

There are ornaments for every themed tree you can think of.

Due to being injured in a car accident last month, my movements have become limited for the time being. So I may not be able to get out in search of more southern Californian Christmas cheer in the time between now and Christmas Day.
Therefore I'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
